Custom Deck Builder in Evergreen, CO.
Evergreen's steep, rocky mountain lots call for a different kind of deck build than the flatlands — tall support posts, custom footings, and framing engineered to work with the grade instead of fighting it. This is exactly the kind of terrain Deck Giant specializes in.
We design and build custom decks for homeowners throughout Evergreen, Bergen Park, and the surrounding foothills — composite, cedar, or exotic hardwood, in single-tier or multi-level layouts, standalone or paired with a pergola.

WRAP-AROUND DECK IN EVERGREEN, CO
Decks for Evergreen's Steep, Rocky Lots
Standard deck framing doesn't work on most Evergreen properties — here's how we build for it instead.
Most Evergreen lots weren't built with a flat backyard in mind. Between steep grades, exposed granite, and mature trees, a standard deck build often just doesn't hold — and a lot of contractors will quietly steer customers toward a smaller, simpler footprint to avoid the harder engineering work.
We do the opposite. Tall support posts, custom footings sized for the actual slope and soil (or rock) conditions, and framing designed to carry the deck's full load off the terrain itself — not around it. On a recent project on similarly steep terrain near Morrison, we anchored custom footers directly into a granite hillside with specialized structural attachments in place of standard concrete footings.
Snow load matters here too. Evergreen sits well above the metro area in elevation, and framing needs to be sized for the heavier, wetter snow loads the foothills see compared to Denver proper.

Deck Permits in Evergreen, CO
Evergreen is unincorporated, so deck permits are issued through Jefferson County Planning & Zoning rather than a local town building department. Nearly all new decks, deck expansions, replacements, and even repairs require a permit.
Much of Evergreen sits in the county's Wildland Urban Interface Overlay District, which can affect material choices and clearance requirements. Framing also needs to be engineered for the heavier snow loads the foothills see.
Steep or rocky lots can trigger a geotechnical review, and properties on well and septic have setback requirements that affect where a deck can go. We handle this review as part of the design process.
We manage the permit process for our Evergreen customers from start to finish — but permit rules do change, so we always confirm current requirements directly with Jefferson County before finalizing a design.
